The role

We are looking for a proactive and technically capable Junior–Mid Level Web Developer to join our growing team. This is a client-facing role that combines hands-on development with account and project management responsibilities.

You will be responsible for developing, maintaining and improving websites and eCommerce platforms while working directly with clients, account managers and internal teams.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing multiple projects, communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and leveraging modern AI tools to improve efficiency and outcomes.

Key responsibilities

Development & technical delivery

• Build, maintain and optimise websites and eCommerce platforms.
• Work across multiple CMS and eCommerce systems including Shopify, Magento, WordPress, WooCommerce, Webflow and other CMS platforms as required.
• Implement custom functionality using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and related technologies.
• Troubleshoot bugs and technical issues.
• Ensure websites are secure, performant, mobile-friendly and SEO-compliant.
• Manage website migrations, updates, integrations and ongoing maintenance.

Client management

• Act as a primary technical contact for assigned clients.
• Attend client meetings and discovery sessions.
• Manage client expectations and communicate project progress.
• Handle phone calls, emails and support requests professionally.
• Translate technical requirements into practical solutions.
• Work closely with account managers to deliver projects on time and within scope.

AI & innovation

• Utilise AI-powered tools and platforms to improve development workflows.
• Identify opportunities to implement AI solutions for client projects.
• Stay up to date with emerging AI technologies and best practices.
• Assist in developing AI-enhanced digital experiences and automations.

Collaboration

• Work alongside designers, marketers, account managers and senior developers.
• Contribute ideas to improve internal processes and client outcomes.
• Support project planning, scoping and technical documentation.

Essential requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience in web development.
• Strong experience with Shopify, Magento, WordPress, WooCommerce and other popular CMS platforms.
• Good knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, APIs and integrations.
• Experience working with AI tools and AI-assisted development workflows.
• Strong understanding of website performance, SEO fundamentals and security best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable speaking directly with clients and handling technical discussions.
• Ability to manage workload independently and prioritise effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Desirable skills

• Experience with React, Next.js or modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with Laravel or other PHP frameworks.
• Familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and marketing integrations.
• Experience with hosting environments, DNS and server management.
• Knowledge of CRM integrations and automation platforms.
• Experience using Git and version control systems.
